Pre Operative Instructions
Bathing/Showering: For one week prior to surgery you must use HIBICLENS soap when showering, which can be found at any drug store. If your skin get's sensitive, switch to Ivory soap.
Medications (what to take and avoid): Take 500mg of Vitamin C 3 times daily for 1 week prior to surgery. We recommend that you continue taking Vitamin C for 1 month after surgery.
Please avoid all aspirin products for 2 weeks prior to surgery. Doing so will reduce swelling/bruising after surgery.
If you would like sleeping pills post surgery, the doctor will supply you with some.
Post Surgery Medication: You don't have to start taking antibiotics or erection control medication until after surgery. If you wish to start taking erection control medication before surgery, please advice us. Our surgeon will call in your medication to your local pharmacy or you can pick up your medication at the surgery center the day of the surgery.
Food: Eat a light meal the night before surgery. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. Also do not eat spicy foods the day before surgery.
Smoking: You must stop smoking 1 month before surgery. The doctor will let you know when you are allowed to smoke again. Doing so will reduce swelling/bruising after surgery.
Clothing: Wear baggy/lose fitted clothing the day of surgery. Boxer shorts and sweat pants are ideal to wear after surgery. Some patients prefer not to wear boxer shorts and only wear sweat pants.
Blood Test: Please tell or e-mail us your doctor's, hospitals or blood labs fax and phone number. The following tests are required;
CBC, CMP, PT, PTT, INR, Bleeding time, Hep. C, HIV. Urine test: standard urine analysis to rule out urinary tract infection. EKG for over 40 years olds only.
Chest X-Ray for smokers only.
Everything must be completed within two months of your surgery date.
Starting spring of 2011, you will have the option to have our trained staff member assist your whole stay. He will personally pick you up at the airport, take you to the doctor's office, surgery center, bring you food and pick up any supplies you might need at the pharmacy. He personally had the Triple Augmentation Surgery and is highly knowledgeable! (For an additional fee)
